Di kaki Gunung Santubong

Sorry for the long silence... I was bz and also lz to update... nice, eh? So here's what happened the last 2 weeks I've been absent.

We celebrated my mum's 66th birthday. Just cakes at my sister's place. It's supposed to be a surprise but my mom saw the box that contained the cupcakes and figure it out. Oh well, we sang anyway. The cuppies was nice but the icing was a bit too sweet. The kids kept eating the sugary icing and left us the cakes ala sudah ditebuk tupai..

Iwan and I went to Kuching for 3 nites for the Rainforest Music Festival sans the kids. We stayed in Damai Beach Resort which is just a walking distance from the Cultural Village where the festival was being held. The first nite it rained and the groups performing were playing reaallly slow songs (think lagu opera cina, well opera Korea la kut since it was a Korean group). We didn't stay long and opt to lepak2 at the hotel lounge instead.

The second nite was way better but by the time we got there it was packed with people (u'd think it was Woodstock or something) that we sat far, far away from the stage area and watched from a projection screen. I felt old. We just had drinks with a group of Iwan's friends and acquaintances before adjourning the drinking session back to the hotel lounge again (the live band was quite good).

The third nite we went in early at ard 6 to visit the long houses but left for dinner before the performance started and didn't bother going back in. I watched Ps: I love you instead heheh.

During the day day I managed to visit Kuching a bit. Went to visit the Semengoh Wildlife Park but no Org Utan came out. And did very little shopping near the waterfront and some pottery centre. Most of the time I read my book by the beach. But the seafood dinners and lunches were terrific.
